January 6, 2021
The date Republicans are desperate for Americans to forget.
Why would any American who has sworn an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution resist an investigation of an assault on the US Capitol? Unless they themselves were complicit?
Everyone saw it. Everyone knows it did not just happen.
It was a scene of horror we will never forget. America demands answers and accountability.
The FBI is actively looking for people who participated in the 1/6/2021 insurrection in Washington DC, an assault on the Capitol and on the United States Constitution.
Maybe you can help them out.The entire list is here.
The Republican Party is OK with this
The Republican Party conducted 33 hearings over two years and spent roughly $11 million investigating Benghazi. Congressional probes into 9/11, Watergate, the JFK assassination and Pearl Harbor were less lengthy.
Yet they seem remarkably uninterested in the terrorist attack on the US capitol on 1/6/2021.
In fact, they have devoted considerable energy to stonewalling any investigation into what went down at the capitol that day. They have engaged in a campaign of raising ludicrous and hysterical non-issues in a lame attempt to distract from the assault.
Why? It seems reasonable to conclude they are:
- Complicit
- More concerned with their individual jobs than the state of the republic
- Hiding other crimes
- Hateful and small minded
- Some combination of these
In an attempt to bolster their cover up, Republicans are everywhere engaged in repressing the vote to protect themselves from the consequences of their actions.
The GOP wants to "move on" by which they mean they want Americans to stop thinking and talking about what happened that day.
If there is not a full accounting of the events leading up to and including the attack on the Capitol, January 6, 2021 may well wind up being the day the music died.
